T-Mobile
Motion Tracking Experience
Role: Interactive Designer
Over 3 million fans pour through T-Mobile Park every year. As part of a rebrand of the 'Pen area, our interactive design team was tasked to develop multiple experiences that furthers the fans engagement at T-Mobile Park. I worked together with 3d environment designers, creative technologists, and engineers to build this experience.
My responsibilities were to provide art direction, create the user experience, design the user interface and handoff to the engineers. I also worked in tandem with a creative technologist to define the physical parameters of the experience and the technologies used. We also traveled back and forth from LA to Seattle to present the experience to stakeholders and install at T-Mobile Park.
Fans step into a simulated batter’s box to play against a virtual pitcher. When the pitcher on-screen delivers a pitch, the fan will do a swinging motion while three Kinect Sensors capture the fan’s body motions and portray it in the on-screen game.
After playing, fans will take a photo at home plate and see a digital baseball card of them in action, which they can email to themselves as a souvenir.
